Aspartame

Sweetener about 200 times sweeter than sugar.

The composition of aspartame, contains two amino acids: aspartic acid and phenylalanine. These amino acids are contained in many natural protein-containing foods such as meat, dairy products, and vegetables. Decomposing body in aspartame breaks down into aspartic acid, phenylalanine and a small amount of organic methanol. Methanol is also present in many natural products.
